About Blue Ridge Talent

Blue Ridge Talent is a Charlotte-based recruiting and talent consulting startup that helps companies find great people through flexible, practical, and personalized recruiting solutions.

Founded by an experienced recruiting professional, we're building a business that approaches recruiting a little differently. We partner with organizations of all sizes, from local small businesses to large corporations, providing recruiting expertise when and where they need it.

Our services range from traditional recruiting and executive search to embedded recruiting support and talent advisory.

We're still in the early stages of our journey, which makes this an especially exciting time to join. We're building our client relationships, developing our processes, and creating the foundation for what we hope will become a successful and growing recruiting company.

We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for an entry-level recruiter to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who's curious about people, enjoys research, communicates well, and wants to develop a valuable professional skill set.

You don't need previous recruiting experience. In fact, we're specifically interested in finding someone with the right personality, work ethic, and desire to learn.

You'll work directly alongside the founder of Blue Ridge Talent, learning the fundamentals of recruiting through hands-on experience, coaching, and exposure to real client projects.

Because we're a startup, this won't be a traditional corporate recruiting position with rigid responsibilities and layers of management. You'll have the opportunity to wear different hats, contribute ideas, help improve how we operate, and gain exposure to the business side of building a recruiting firm.

Initially, your work will focus on researching companies, identifying potential candidates, building talent pipelines, and supporting recruiting activities. As your skills develop, you'll gain opportunities to conduct candidate interviews, manage searches, interact with clients, and take on greater responsibility.

Our goal is to develop someone who can grow into a well-rounded professional recruiter while helping us build a great company.

What You'll Do

Candidate Research & Sourcing

  • Research companies, industries, and job markets to identify potential candidates.
  • Use LinkedIn, recruiting platforms, online databases, and other resources to find talent.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for a variety of positions and industries.
  • Develop creative approaches to finding people who may not be actively looking for a new job.
  • Learn how to evaluate professional backgrounds, qualifications, and career experience.

Candidate Engagement & Recruiting

  • Help develop and execute outreach strategies to engage prospective candidates.
  • Communicate with potential candidates through email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels.
  • Conduct introductory conversations and candidate screenings as your experience develops.
  • Support interview scheduling, candidate follow-up, and overall recruiting coordination.
  • Build meaningful professional relationships while providing a positive candidate experience.

Recruiting Operations & Business Development

  • Maintain accurate candidate information and recruiting activity in our applicant tracking and CRM systems.
  • Assist with job postings, candidate presentations, and recruiting reports.
  • Track recruiting activity, pipeline progress, and market insights.
  • Support recruiting projects for clients across a variety of industries.
  • Research prospective clients, industry trends, and new business opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas and help develop the tools, processes, and systems that will support our growth.

What We're Looking For

We're much more interested in your potential than your résumé.

The ideal person will bring:

  • A naturally curious personality and a genuine interest in people.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly written communication.
  • Comfort using technology, online research tools, and social platforms.
  • A self-motivated attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Resilience, persistence, and the ability to handle rejection.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and excitement about working in a growing business.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to take on different responsibilities as the company evolves.
  • A willingness to receive feedback, ask questions, and continuously improve.
  • A professional, dependable, and positive attitude.

Previous experience in recruiting, sales, customer service, hospitality, or another people-oriented environment is helpful but absolutely not required.

A college degree is not required, but a plus. We're looking for capability, character, and potential.

What You'll Learn

This isn't just an opportunity to perform recruiting tasks. It's an opportunity to learn a profession and experience what goes into building a business.

Through direct mentorship and real-world experience, you'll develop skills in:

  • Talent sourcing and candidate identification
  • Professional networking and relationship building
  • Candidate interviewing and evaluation
  • Recruiting technology and AI-enabled tools
  • Labor market research and competitive intelligence
  • Client communication and relationship management
  • Full-cycle recruiting and search management
  • Business development and entrepreneurship
  • Building and improving business processes

You'll gain exposure to different industries, businesses, and professional career paths, building a foundation that can support a long-term career in talent acquisition, human resources, or recruiting consulting.

Why Blue Ridge Talent?

An opportunity to get in on the ground floor.

Joining a startup isn't for everyone, and that's part of what makes this opportunity unique.

We're a small, growing business where everyone has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. There won't always be a perfectly defined playbook, and some days you'll be asked to step outside your comfort zone. But you'll also have a front-row seat to what it takes to build a company, develop client relationships, solve problems, and create something from the ground up.

You'll work directly with an experienced recruiting leader, receive hands-on training, and have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as you develop.

We believe recruiting should be consultative, thoughtful, and centered around people. We value relationships over transactions, quality over shortcuts, and doing what's right for both our clients and candidates.

We're looking for someone who shares those values, brings energy and curiosity to their work, and is excited about the possibility of growing alongside the company.

If you're ambitious, resourceful, and interested in learning both recruiting and entrepreneurship, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

Compensation is an hour rate + bonus, depending on experience and alignment.
